<h1>Our Goals</h1> <p>The key aims of the SET for Sport initiative are:</p> <ul> <li>To help increase the study of engineering, and raise appreciation of the diversity of the roles that engineering plays.</li> <li>To provide insight into engineering as a subject and a career in a way that is accessible to children from different backgrounds and age groups.</li> <li>To promote engineering in areas and communities experiencing significant social disadvantage, and in groups where historically there has been very little interest in following this career pathway.</li> <li>To enable volunteers develop new communication skills and establish new networks with other engineers.</li> <li>To provide companies and institutions with an opportunity to promote their outreach activities.</li> <li>To provide companies with an opportunity to use SET for Sport as a team-building event.</li> <li>To encourage development of new problem solving skills, and to raise children's aspirations with regard to their own capabilities and interests. </li> </ul> <p><img src="https://www.setforsport.com/images/ALTON_20110617_0146.JPG" border="0" style="margin: 10px 25px; border: 0px currentColor;" /></p>
